Diagnostic Services
At IMCT we pride ourselves in being able to provide most diagnostic services you will need in-house under one roof. Rather than being sent to another facility for lab work, an x-ray, an ultrasound or any of the other services listed below, you can walk right around the corner within our beautiful facility to take care of these tests.

Full Service Laboratory (Medicare-CLIA certified)

Our laboratory staff is comprised of board-certified technicians with extensive experience in the field. State-of-the-art equipment on-site provides the technology essential to providing accurate, timely results. X-Ray
IMCT offers the convenience of in-house X-RAY services. This greatly enhances the efficiency, accuracy and speed with which you can obtain your diagnosis. We do our best to fit you in for a same day appointments in the event of an acute injury. This allows us to more efficiently send you on the road to a faster recovery.
If you require more extensive imaging studies, such as MRIs or Bone Scans, this can be done at a facility outside of the Clinic. We are linked by computer to the most reputable imaging centers so that studies can be sent directly to us for immediate review. If you have copies of your studies, then you should always bring them with you to your initial visit.

Bone Densitometry (DEXA)
A DEXA (Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) bone density scan determines if you have osteoporosis or may be at risk to develop osteoporosis. Osteoporosis causes bones to be more fragile and can increase the risk of a fracture. The bone density scan is fast, accurate, pain-free, and has very low radiation. The scan takes approximately 3 – 5 minutes, and measurements are made over the lumbar spine and both hips. In addition a series of questions will be asked to determine other risk factors of Osteoporosis.
DEXA scan is the most widely used and most thoroughly studied bone density measurement technology.

Ultrasound (Regular & Vascular)
Ultrasound (regular) can be performed of any area of the body to diagnose illnesses of thyroid, gallbladder, kidneys, pancreas. Vascular ultrasound can be done of the carotid arteries to diagnose carotid artery disease to prevent strokes, aorta to diagnose aortic aneurysm, peripheral arteries to diagnose peripheral artery disease (PAD), or of veins to diagnose clots in the extremities.

Echocardiography
Echocardiography is an ultrasound of the heart to assess heart function and diagnose valvular heart disease. It captures a picture of the heart and blood flow of the heart. An echocardiogram is often ordered when there are indication of hypertension, chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath or an abnormal EKG. Your echocardiogram is read by a board certified cardiologist.

Stress Testing (Regular & Nuclear Stress Tests)
Stress testing (regular & nuclear stress tests) for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease.

A regular stress test gives your doctor information about how your heart works during physical stress.
During a stress test, you exercise by walking on a treadmill to increase your heart rate. EKG, blood pressure, and heart rate are monitored during the stress test.

A nuclear stress test is one of the most commonly performed diagnostic heart tests. During a nuclear stress test, a small amount of radioactive isotope is injected into a person’s bloodstream. The distribution of the radioactive isotope in the heart muscle is recorded by a camera shortly before and after the person exercises. The camera produces images of the heart that show the physician exactly where the heart muscle may not be receiving enough blood and oxygen.

Nerve Conduction Testing
A nerve conduction study (NCS) is a test commonly used to evaluate the function of the nerves in the extremities.
Nerve conduction studies are used commonly used for evaluation of numbness, tingling, and burning and/or weakness of the arms and legs. This is commonly done in diabetics to determine if the diabetes has caused peripheral neuropathy.

Pulmonary Function Laboratory
Pulmonary function testing is a valuable tool for evaluating the respiratory system in patients with suspected pulmonary disease such as COPD, asthma, emphysema, asbestosis, and many other lung problems. It can also be used to assess the response to therapy once the patient is on medication.  IMCT has a state of the art full service pulmonary function laboratory staffed by two board certified pulmonologists.

Coumadin Clinic
The Coumadin Clinic is a service to our patients to monitor and manage the medication(s) taken to prevent blood clots. Your physician will check your blood work and adjust your dose of Coumadin ® as well as other medicines that may be needed (such as heparin shots or Vitamin K, the antidote to Coumadin).
